Drawing is the foundation of my work. Whether it is traditional media such as charcoal and graphite or digital paint utilizing a tablet. It is where the work starts and often finishes. I have drawn since I was young and have always been fascinated with rendering and the process of bringing three dimensional form to life. My work tends to be figurative with an inclination towards realism. Although I see my art as contemporary, I feel anchored in history, where I find inspiration in the style and technique of the Masters, the invention of the Surrealist and the raw creativity of Abstract Expressionism.
